I have this need to create “low maintenance” food. I have a very busy life and I love feeding large crowds (my family) so; therefore, I have to get creative. This sandwich is sure to satisfy. I cooked this roast for 8 hours on high so it would be all to pieces. It was frozen when I put it in there so I let it cook several hours overtime to avoid any issues.

I used the broth rendered from the roast to create a gravy for this. If you order a mushroom Swiss burger it will have gravy on it so this sandwich could NOT go without it. After all, I’m trying to create an easier version, not a less tasty version.
I will definitely make this one again. It was absolutely wonderful. I hope you give it a try!

If you use a frozen roast then please put it in a cold crockpot before you turn it on and allow it to cook for an extended period of time to make sure it is falling all to pieces. Shred meat and set aside.
- Strain broth. Place one tablespoon of butter in a skillet on medium heat and allow it to melt and heat. Sprinkle in one tablespoon of flour and stir with a whisk for two minutes. Whisk in one cup of broth and allow it to simmer until thickened. Remove from heat.
- Toast bun with butter on one side and Swiss cheese on the other. Build your sandwich with meat and mushrooms and drizzle with gravy. Salt and pepper to taste. You better keep some extra gravy for sopping too! This sandwich is awesome!
