Biscuit Skillet Casserole
All the best southern breakfast dishes in one place.
Equipment
- 2 Skillets Spoons and spatula
Ingredients
- One pound bulk sausage browned
- Two tablespoons flour all purpose or self rising
- Two cups milk
- Six eggs scrambled
- Two cups self rising flour
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- In a skillet, brown the sausage.
- Sprinkle two tablespoons flour over the sausage and stir. Cook two minutes. Stir in milk. Continue to stir until thickened. Slide skillet off stove.
- Scramble eggs and layer on top of gravy.
- Combine two cups flour with 1/2 cup softened butter until it looks crumbly, work in 3/4 cup buttermilk until soft dough forms. Spread dough over the top of the scrambled eggs. Bake for 13 minutes or until light golden brown.
- Invert onto serving plate.
- Use a spatula to remove any bits from the pan that might have stuck to the pan.
- Enjoy!
