Being on spring break from driving a bus this week has really made me miss the good old days before 2012 when I was “just” a stay at home mom. It’s been nice to actually ease around in the mornings without having to jump out of my pjs and into a cold bus. Only 15 more years to go and then I can retire. Only;)
Yesterday my grandson and I were gathering eggs when he found these beautiful crystals on the ground and put them in my egg basket for safe keeping. I love the mind of a child. May we all keep the talent of seeing beauty in the ordinary. I love the way my grandkids get so excited to see the animals and play in the dirt. You’ll never convince me that kids and dirt and rocks don’t go hand in hand. They’ll all be here soon and I can’t wait to get out in the yard with them. The only thing better than being here with them would be playing in the woods. Ah, now that is where my heart will always be. Running barefoot and wide open through the forrest headlong for the creek. Maybe I’ll take them there while they are here.
I’m sitting at my dining room table looking out the window at a sea of green grass and new leaves on all the trees and somewhere in the back of my imagination there are fairies yawning and waking up to play in the flowers and pet the bees. I’ll be out there with them soon. This time of year sparks something in me. I could just sit outside and watch the world wake up and never get bored.
Time to get busy. I’ll be feeding animals, tending to mama, and making finally preps for my incoming family this morning so I can spend all afternoon playing with grand babies and talking with my daughters. If I’m really lucky they’ll be more crystals in my egg basket this afternoon. You have a great day and I’ll check in with you later. I’m going fairy hunting. Wish me luck!
Y’all be sweet,
Bena ❤️🐝
