Let’s not forget that I’m on a sugar and carb free gummy and candy kick because of diabetics in my family. I would love to use natural sweeteners like honey and fruit juice but those are just plain old sugar to your blood stream. Therefore, I’m working with Stevia right now. This recipe filled all four molds you see in the picture above.
For these gummy worms and gummy bears I used:
4 packets of unflavored gelatin (0.25 oz each)
6 Tblspoons Stevia
1 and 1/3 cup boiling water
1.5 tsp super strength candy flavoring from Amazon and the paid link to what I bought is right here:
You can also get all natural food coloring with no artificial dyes from my paid Amazon link here:
Here are some gummy bear molds as well, however, I did get my molds at Walmart. Paid Amazon link:
Heat water on the stove in a small sauce pan OR in the microwave using a microwave safe dish. I used a glass measuring dish in the microwave for three minutes.
Stir in gelatin packets and Stevia until dissolved. Yep, I used a fork but you can use a whisk.
Dip a spoon into the mixture and taste it. Does it need more flavoring? Add a few drops at a time until you get the strength you want.
Using a drip squeeze bottle or dropper, fill your molds and refrigerate for 25-40 minutes or until set. When they are ready, simply press from the back and gently pull them out. Store in an air tight container in the fridge.
Have fun! I’m just getting started trying new things. Let’s see what else we can come up with. Easter is almost here and I want my diabetics to have candy too! Fun for everyone! 🍬
Y’all be sweet,
Bena ❤️🐝

I plan to follow your posts about this subject closely. My mother-in-law is a long time diabetic with a big sweet tooth. Your posts sparked me to do a little more research on the subject. Found this very interesting article. https://thedietitianprescription.com/glycemic-index-sweeteners-chart/
Also, do the diabetes like peanut butter & chocolate candies? Maybe you could do a healthier version of those for them. From other diabetics & pre-diabetics in my life, I know that combining a protein with the carbohydrates is helpful. Again, thanks for the great information on this subject, and I’ll keep watching!
Chris loves peanut butter cups! I’ve been buying the Atkins version for him but there’s no reason we can’t find a natural way to make them too! You are such a kind daughter-in-law to look into this for her! Make sure you subscribe toy website for more updates. We are just getting started!
That’s from me, thank you for mentioning it!
Thanks for teaching us how to make gummies and how much fun it is to make them. Love your daily updates. Have a blessed day! Love you. ❤️. Prayers for a blessed Easter! ✝️✝️
