Squirrels, Note Pads, and Jesus

Daily planner, phone and portable keyboard, and latest obsession.

I know that you may not look at that image and have a clue that you are, in fact, looking at my brain; but you are. I typically have most everything on my cell phone. My calendar, notes, pictures, videos, and everything else that could possibly fit in one hand held device is there in that little silver phone. The items next to it are also vital for my well being. I bought a fold up keyboard that is totally portable, it opens up to a grill sized keyboard with full number pad and bluetooths to my phone. That thing has saved my thumbs more than I can tell you! It will even take a screen shot for me! I’lol link it for my other key board warriors. You also see a tiny easel that holds my phone up for me while I am typing away on my magical keyboard. Those three things keep me connected to you in the easiest way possible. They are essential now!

On the left side of that picture you see a daily planner with no dates in it. That, my friends, is the best thing ever. I no longer feel that I have wasted money on a daily planner that I am not using daily. My scheduled events are logged into my phone with reminders and alarms. I need a to do list that can keep up with the squirrels in my head. This is the one! No longer do I deal with any form of guilt at having not finished a list of things on a specific day. I can now priorities and keep it going until I finish them all and begin a new list without skipping pages to get back to a calendar date. I love the freedom of writing out a list and just flying with it until I finish it on my time.

Inner page of best daily planner ever

If you or someone you know could use a great daily planner that frees you from the daily pressure of specific days and yet keeps you organized, I’ll link this one for you at the bottom of this post as well. yeah, I could scribble on a piece of notebook paper (or paper towels if that is what I have handy) but I really like this one and it truly helps me keep the squirrels in my head moving in a positive direction. All 100 of them.

Kitchen Garden Revival book, my latest hyper focus

I found Nicole Burke on Instagram a couple of days ago. She started a business she named Gardenary that has really locked in my attention. She teaches classes, for a fee, and I’m looking into it. i decided to buy one of her books and see if she knew what she was talking about before I dumped a bunch of money into her pockets. The book has a good bit of information in it that I had not considered. I’m sure it would have come to me eventually when i start building my own raised beds, but it was nice to read through this entire book (200 pages) in about three hours last night and feel that old familiar pull of excitement. I’ve needed a push in a good direction. Something to do that serves a purpose and gets me excited about trying something new and fun.

I have often wondered what kind of “critter” I am. yes, I say it like that on purpose for the comic relief of not being sure what I want to be when I grow up at the ripe old age of closing in on fifty, but I have honestly envied people who always knew what they wanted to do as a career. I can look around me now and see where my interests lie but I haven’t yet felt that I found a niche that could truly make me useful. I’ve been a “whatchamacallit” for a while and I hope I may have decided on a real deal me thing. I still plan to do cooking videos but now I can actually teach some other useful things too, I hope.

This paper towel has half my brain written on it today.

So what does Jesus have to do with any of this? Ok, I’ll tell you.

Sunday night we were gifted a sermon on praying. It seems that Paul was telling some church members that Epephas was struggling in prayer for them. I connected with that on a deep level. I too have struggled in prayer. There have been people I had a hard time praying for. People I prayed for made me struggle in my spirit because things didn’t change as quickly as I hoped for. Mostly, I have struggled in prayer due to all the squirrels in my head running in different directions at the same time. Can you relate to any of that?

The fact is, God is better at dealing with my brain squirrels than I am. Christ intercedes for us. The Holy Spirit translates for us and speaks squirrel fluently. And God is big enough to hold all my squirrels at one time. He’s not scared of my brain squirrels. I’ve begged Him for years to show me a path I can follow and be useful to others. I hope I’ve found it. I hope you’ll pray for me to have strength and wisdom and not grow weary in growing.

I have prayed and prayed for things that haven’t happened yet. I also have more answered prayers than I can count. I want to encourage you to keep praying even if you chase a few squirrels while you do so. Praying isn’t always easy but God loves us, squirrels and all. Even though I’m certain that sometimes He may think I’m nuts. Pun intended. 🥜🐿️

Sunroom clean up

The sunroom is clean

The dishes are too

I’ve fed the animals

Now I’m off to Lowe’s to spend a bunch of money on wood for my raised beds. How about you?

Have a great day and I’ll see you soon, Thanks for stopping by.

Y’all be sweet,

Bena ❤️🐝🐿️

  4. I love that Planner. I’ve gotta get me one of them. I have squirrels sometimes, too. Mostly around busy seasons, like summers and holidays. I can’t wait to see what all God has in store for you. And how you build these beds. We are planning on doing the same in the Spring. Maybe I can get some pointers from you. 🙂

  5. I have squirrels as well, they seem to be on a wheel going 24/7 in my brain. Was looking for links to planner and keyboard.
