Sorry for the silence yesterday. I was really busy.

Believe it or not, gardening is kicking off this month again. According to the ACES gardening calendar, January is full of activities. Time to prune winter damage from fruit trees, pick out roses, plant apples and a few other fruit trees, and it’s time to start a few cold hardy veggies in some seed trays for later. I’ve already started gathering supplies for starting heirloom seeds this year. If you live in Alabama, here’s a link (below) to the Alabama Extension website. If you don’t live in Alabama, check for an extension office in your area. Gardening season is approaching at full speed. Time to get busy!

Chris found this amazing copper confectioners cauldron. I’ve coated it in ketchup and rinsed it off once. It’s probably going to need a second or third treatment to bring the inside of the cauldron back up to clean. I’ve been trying to decide if this is worth taking on. It’s massive and gorgeous, but I’m wondering what my limitations with this metal could be. I’ve read that acidic foods will break the metal down and leech it into whatever I’m cooking. Therefore, I could use this for lots of things but apparently not everything. I do have a second option. There’s a massive stainless steel syrup pot for sale that I’m aware of. I’m thinking that one will be cheaper and more useful in the long run. However, my little antique loving heart just doesn’t want to say know to this rare beauty. I’ll let you know what I decide.

I learned how to make authentic Chinese potstickers last week. Be ready for that video coming up next week. It was a lot of fun but there is definitely a technique to it. I’ve got a long way to go before they’ll be perfect but you know me, ugly food is still good food as far as I’m concerned.
Ok, I’m off to go get busy enjoying my Saturday. I hope you have a fabulous day! I’ll see you soon. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Y’all be sweet,
